TBF

"There’s this kid called TBF from Romania, he’s 19 years old, and he’s coming up with some of the toughest house shit that I’ve heard from Europe, Eastern bloc Europe, you know what I’m saying, these people just now got decks and parties and shit you know. So this guy is 19, he’s making some really really good stuff. Jackin’, energetic, it’s not techno, it’s not electro, its straight house[...]"

(DJ Sneak interview for Getthecurse.com 2008)

Growing up with Cassius, Armand van Helden, Daft Punk, Basement Jaxx and Roger Sanchez, it's no wonder that TBF remained loyal to house music, after experimenting with other genres. Therefore, it's not hard to define his style, jazz influences, soul, funk and disco are always present, as they define our young artist's way of life.

One of TBF's strong beliefs is that "one should first understand music, only then being able to express his true self." This being said, we can easily understand why young TBF remains one of the most talented producers of the underground music scene in Romania and abroad. His tracks are often played by house music legends such as DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Hector Moralez or Phil Weeks.

With releases on Minority, Robsoul, Oomph, Royalty Records, Digi Funk, Kinjo Music, Dustpan Recordings or Footwear, the young romanian producer reached his peak when he was invited at this year's edition of Winter Music Conference in Miami.

2010 sees his first artist album being released on Hector Moralez's label Minority Music, both on vinyl and CD, followed by a Remixed edition, featuring surprise artists.
